This blog presents some of my favourite dishes. As I’ve lived in Italy for nearly 25 years now they are mostly Italian recipes and mostly traditional dishes, though there may be a few creations of my own. The greater part of them have been learnt from Italians (grannies, mothers-in-law, friends…), though some have come from (Italian) recipe books, in particular Ada Boni’s masterpiece, “Il Talismano della Felicità”, first published in 1929 and still a must-have (another great cookery book is Pellegrino Artusì’s 1891 “La Scienza in cucina e l’Arte di mangiar bene“, though it’s mostly unusable today as it’s full of “first catch your hare” sort of stuff).
I hope readers will at least try out some of these recipes, and I strongly encourage you to leave comments and suggestions.
Portions are, unless otherwise stated, for 2. There’ll also be some articles on ingredients and maybe even wine.
